Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Baggie handles, why we handle it, and the choices you have. Our guiding principle is simple: collect only what helps us provide your travel journal.

1. Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Baggie mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Services”). Baggie is a personal travel journal provided by Gino Studio Co. In this policy, “Baggie,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the provider of the Services.

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Information we handle

Information you provide

  • Account information: your email address, display name, sign-in provider, and the provider identifier used to keep you signed in.
  • Profile and preferences: information such as your birth date, home country, language, and selected travel interests.
  • Travel journal content: places you save or check in to, memories or notes you add, and related activity and progress.

Location information

With your device permission, Baggie may access your current location to suggest nearby places, support check-ins, determine your home country, and organize your journey. You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings. Some location-based features will then be unavailable.

Photo-library processing

If you choose the photo journey feature and grant permission, Baggie scans capture dates and available GPS metadata on your device to build a travel summary. This processing takes place on your device.

We do not upload your photo files or raw photo metadata. Only the aggregate journey summary you review and approve—such as photo counts and grouped dates, countries, and cities—is sent to our servers.

Technical information

When you use the Services, our systems may automatically receive limited technical and diagnostic information, such as IP address, device and operating-system type, app version, request timestamps, crash information, and security logs. We may also receive your device’s current UTC offset to apply day-based features correctly. The device does not supply or override server event timestamps.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure your account and keep you signed in;
  • provide check-ins, memories, journey summaries, rankings, and personalization;
  • respond to support, privacy, and safety requests;
  • operate, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the Services;
  • detect abuse, fraud, or security incidents; and
  • meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our agreement with you, your consent (including device permissions), our legitimate interests in safely operating and improving Baggie, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We may share information only as needed with:

  • Service providers that help us host, secure, maintain, and support Baggie, subject to appropriate contractual restrictions.
  • Sign-in providers you choose, such as Apple or Google. Their handling of your information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or respond to lawful process.
  • A successor organization in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Your choices and rights

You can change device permissions at any time in iOS or Android settings. You may update available profile information in the app. You may also request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing, where applicable.

To make a privacy request or request account deletion, email privacy@ginostudioco.com from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

6. Retention, transfers, and security

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.

Baggie and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use safeguards intended to protect information transferred across borders.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a secure device and protect your account credentials.

7. Children’s privacy

Baggie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If local law requires a higher minimum age to consent to data processing, that higher age applies. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to this section, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Baggie evolves. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice in the app when required by law.
